Albany- Valley of the Giants

We spent three lovely days in Albany in a great caravan park with a spa and a great games room, again the girls have met some new friends and have a lovely time playing and swimming.

Today we visited Albany's Whale World which was originally Australia's last whaling station. We spent most of the day walking around the station having a look in the whalechaser and seeing many different exhibitions of these these giants of the sea and our whaling past.

On the way from Albany to Esperence had to talk Nathan into doing the treetop walk in the the Valley of the Giants, he is a little scared of heights. The walk takes us 4o metres above the forest floor on a light weight deck of steel trussels built on steels pylons to form a circuit 420 metres long which sways with the breeze and the traffic on it.

These beautiful trees are huge and many have had the trunks burnt out to form a hollow at their base.
